about

Hermann Bühler performed this clarinet pieces in the geodesic dome of his sound installation Geoscape I, where nine speakers establish a constant sinus drone. The frequencies are conceived from location measures that define geographically the greater area of Cevio and Maggia, Ticino. You can hear the microtonal tuning clearly in the background of Hermann Bühler improvisations, changing subtly the melodic and harmonic patterns of his playing. The three pieces are reminiscent of the well-known Swiss rivers Linth, Sihl and Maggia.
